Donald Trump is renewing his attacks on Barack Obama, this time with an AI-generated image showing the former president and other political opponents as mugshot subjects.

The post, shared on Trump’s Truth Social account over the weekend, depicted several high-profile figures wearing prison-style outfits and holding criminal-style name tags. Obama appeared in the image alongside people who previously served in his administration, including former senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and former deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes.

Trump described the group in harsh terms. “This is a bad (Sick!) group of people,” he wrote. “Very destructive to our great nation. Caused tremendous damage through Weaponization!”

Trump Shares AI Mugshot Image Of Obama

The AI image showed Obama and others framed as if they had been arrested. Obama’s outfit appeared to be a different color from the rest, making him stand out in the graphic.

The post continued Trump’s long-running claim that his political enemies weaponized the justice system against him. He has frequently accused Democrats, prosecutors, and former Obama-era officials of targeting him unfairly.

The new post also came after Trump recently reshared messages calling for Obama’s arrest. One of the posts he amplified claimed Obama and others should be arrested, prosecuted, and jailed for “treachery, treason, and seditious conspiracy.”

Trump Previously Shared Offensive Obama AI Clip

This was not the first AI-related Obama post from Trump to draw backlash.

In February, Trump shared a video showing Barack and Michelle Obama’s faces superimposed onto the bodies of apes.

The White House later claimed the video was only meant to show Trump and the Obamas as characters from ‘The Lion King’. Trump also said he had not noticed the offensive imagery involving the Obamas and called it a “very small mistake.”

The clip was later deleted, but Trump did not issue an apology.

Obama Says Family Attacks Cross A Line

Obama has said he generally does not take Trump’s attacks personally, but he draws the line when his family is pulled into them.

“I don’t take it personally,” Obama said in a May interview. “I mean, I’m always offended when my wife and kids get dragged into things, because they didn’t choose this.”

He added that even political opponents should avoid attacking family members. “I would never talk about somebody’s family in that way,” Obama said.

Obama has also criticized Trump’s behavior more broadly, describing it as “deeply troubling” and calling parts of the political environment a “clown show.”

Obama Warns Against Weaponizing Justice

Days before Trump’s latest post, Obama warned against turning the justice system into a tool for punishing political enemies.

“We can survive a lot, bad policy, funky elections,” Obama said. “We can’t overcome the politicization of the justice system, the awesome power of the state.” He added that no democracy can function if the person in power uses government authority to attack enemies or reward allies.

Trump’s latest AI image appears to push directly into that argument. To his supporters, it may read as another attack on what he calls political weaponization. To critics, it looks like another escalation in his campaign against Obama and other perceived enemies.
