Marc Anthony’s relationship with the twins he shares with Jennifer Lopez appears to have changed over the years.
The singer was reportedly absent from both graduation celebrations for 18-year-old twins Max and Oskar Muniz, leaving Lopez to mark the emotional family milestone without their father beside them.
The absence stood out because Lopez has recently been open about how hard it has been to watch her children prepare for adulthood. For Anthony, insiders say the situation has become more complicated.
A source previously said Lopez is the “primary parent” of the twins, while Anthony “defers to her” when it comes to parenting decisions.
That arrangement may explain why Lopez was front and center as both kids celebrated major school milestones.

Marc Anthony Reportedly Missed Both Graduations
On May 28, Lopez attended Oskar’s graduation from Windward School in Los Angeles.
Photos showed Lopez celebrating the moment with son Max and Ben Affleck’s son Samuel Affleck. Anthony did not appear to be present. Then, on June 5, Max received his diploma during a graduation ceremony held at UCLA.
Lopez was seen getting emotional at the event, attending with Oskar, both of her parents, and longtime manager Benny Medina. Anthony also appeared to be absent from that ceremony.
For Lopez, the events marked the end of a major chapter. For fans, Anthony’s reported absence raised questions about where things stand with the children he once went out of his way to see.

Insiders Say The Bond Became More Difficult
Anthony and Lopez welcomed their twins in 2008. The pair split in 2011, three years after becoming parents.
According to a source, Anthony spent more time with Max and Oskar when they were younger and tried to work around their schedule. The insider claimed he would even send private jets so the kids could visit him.
Over time, however, that reportedly changed. “But that became more difficult and more infrequent,” the source said.
Anthony is a father of eight children with four women. In addition to Max and Oskar, he shares daughter Arianna and son Chase with ex Debbie Rosado, and sons Cristian and Ryan with Dayanara Torres. He also shares a young child with wife Nadia Ferreira, and the couple is expecting another baby.
That large family dynamic may be part of why his relationship with Lopez’s twins now appears less visible than it once was.
Jennifer Lopez Is Struggling With The Twins Growing Up
Lopez has not hidden how emotional this stage has been.
During a June 8 appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ she told Andy Cohen that her twins are ready for the next phase of life.
“They’re so independent,” Lopez said. “I’ve given them roots and wings and it’s great and this is how it is. This is a healthy mom thing to do.” Still, she admitted the graduation season has been tough.
Lopez said she was writing something for the end-of-school-year program and kept breaking down. “Every time it comes up I just start crying,” she said. “I could cry right now.”
That made Anthony’s reported absence feel even more noticeable. Lopez was the parent visibly carrying the emotion of the moment, while Anthony’s distance from the events put renewed attention on his quieter role in the twins’ lives.
For now, Max and Oskar are stepping into adulthood. Lopez is trying to let go. Anthony’s relationship with them, meanwhile, appears to be facing a more complicated chapter.
