Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein know exactly why fans are talking.
The two stars share major chemistry in Netflix’s new rom-com ‘Office Romance,’ where Lopez plays an airline CEO and Goldstein plays a company lawyer. Their characters’ work relationship turns personal, and viewers quickly started wondering whether that spark carried over after cameras stopped rolling.
Their press tour did not exactly calm the chatter. Lopez and Goldstein have looked relaxed, funny and very comfortable together in interviews. Naturally, the internet did what it always does: tried to turn a movie pairing into a real-life romance.
Jennifer Lopez And Brett Goldstein Shut Down Dating Talk
Lopez and Goldstein addressed the rumors during a recent appearance on NBC’s ‘Today.’
Savannah Guthrie brought up Lopez’s earlier appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,’ where the singer and actress named Goldstein as her favorite on-screen kiss during a game of ‘Plead the Fifth.’ Lopez even called him “the best kisser.”
That gave Guthrie an easy opening. Were Lopez and Goldstein actually dating?
“Every time I’m seen with someone or working with someone, people try to pair us up,” Lopez said.
Goldstein jumped in with a joke.
“I think that’s just what happens when you stand near her,” he said.
Still, Guthrie pushed for a clearer answer. Lopez gave one.
“I’m not dating all these people they link me to in rumors,” she said. “I think I was supposedly with Kevin Costner this year. There were a lot of people. It happens all the time, but it doesn’t make it true.”
Then she made it plain: she and Goldstein are “not dating.”
“Correct,” Goldstein added.

The ‘Office Romance’ Buzz May Be Working
The timing of the speculation has raised eyebrows. Hollywood insider Rob Shuter previously reported that the romance talk may have been more about promotion than passion.
“This is a classic Hollywood showmance,” one insider said. “The movie needs buzz, Brett’s aiming for leading man status, and Jennifer’s a pro at keeping the public intrigued.”
Another source said Lopez understands how celebrity perception works. Fans like seeing her admired by attractive co-stars, and that attention keeps the movie in conversation.
“Their on-screen chemistry is genuine,” the insider said. “But off-camera, it’s all about business, branding, and smart promotion, nothing more.”
That may sound cynical, but it is also pure Hollywood. A little mystery can sell a rom-com faster than any trailer.
Alex Rodriguez Rumors Add Another Twist
The Lopez romance rumor cycle has not stopped with Goldstein.
Shuter also reported that Lopez’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez may have reached out after his split from Jaclyn Cordeiro. Lopez and Rodriguez dated from 2017 to 2021 before ending their engagement.
“Alex never really got over Jennifer,” one source claimed. “Their relationship was everything to him, and reaching out seemed inevitable once he was single again.”
Another insider said Rodriguez still misses Lopez’s presence in his life. Still, Lopez is reportedly in a calmer, more guarded place now.
For now, the Brett Goldstein question has a firm answer. The chemistry may be real on screen, but Lopez and Goldstein say the romance rumors are not.
