Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry may be getting closer to a major relationship shift.
The former Canadian prime minister and the pop superstar, who have been romantically linked since last July, are reportedly talking about sharing a home part-time. For a couple juggling children, careers, distance and two very different worlds, that is no small step.
One insider said Trudeau has been showing Perry his new residence and hopes she will consider staying there with him part-time. The idea, according to the source, is not just about romance. It is also about making their long-distance setup feel a little more real.
Justin Trudeau’s New Home Could Fit A Blended Family
Trudeau, 54, reportedly bought a $4.26 million property in Outremont earlier this year. The home is said to be a 5,000-square-foot, two-story single-family residence in an upscale Montreal neighborhood where he once lived.
A source described the place as roomy enough for a blended family, which makes the timing interesting. Perry, 41, has her own home base in Montecito, California, where she co-parents daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with Orlando Bloom.
That arrangement still matters. A second source said Perry stays in Montecito when she is not on tour because she and Bloom have built a steady co-parenting rhythm.
“Orlando and Katy have established a smooth co-parenting routine, which is why Katy primarily stays there when not on tour,” the insider said.
Katy Perry And Justin Trudeau Are Working Around Distance
For now, Trudeau and Perry are still managing a long-distance relationship. That sounds exhausting on paper. Yet sources close to the pair say it has not created major trouble so far.
“They’ve developed a system that works and prioritize seeing each other as frequently as possible,” one insider said.
That may explain why part-time cohabitation is being discussed. It gives them a possible middle ground without fully uprooting Perry from California or Trudeau from Canada.
Their Kids Remain The Biggest Factor
Both stars also have children to consider. Trudeau shares Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 17, and Hadrien, 12, with his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire. Perry shares Daisy with Bloom.
One source said the couple has kept that reality front and center. “Both prioritize stability for their kids,” the insider said. “Katy and Justin have had to adapt to make their relationship work. They seize every opportunity to spend time together.”
The romance first sparked chatter last July after Trudeau and Perry were spotted dining together in Montreal. They later confirmed their relationship on Instagram in December.
Now, the big question is simple: will Perry say yes to a part-time move? If she does, this relationship may be entering a much more serious chapter.
