Ex-Prince Andrew is facing another damaging claim, this time involving one of his own dogs.
An updated edition of Andrew Lownie’s book ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’ reportedly claims that Andrew once kicked his Labrador in the head during a pheasant shoot at Sandringham. The book is set to be published on May 21 and includes new allegations about the former Duke of York’s conduct.
According to the account, the incident happened during a gathering when guests stopped mid-morning for hot soup and sausage rolls.
Book Claims Andrew Kicked Dog After Sausage Roll Incident
Lownie writes that Andrew was standing with his Labrador beside him when the dog suddenly jumped up and snatched a sausage roll from a guest’s hand.
The guest reportedly laughed at first.
Then, according to the book, Andrew “kicked the dog in the head, leaving her whimpering on the ground.”
The guest, described as a friend of the royal family, allegedly rebuked Andrew and called his behavior toward the “beautiful dog” disgusting.
Andrew reportedly snapped back with an expletive before saying it was none of the guest’s business and that he would do what he wanted with “MY dogs.”
Prince Philip Allegedly Backed The Guest
The book claims other members of the group quietly supported the guest, flashing him a thumbs-up after he confronted Andrew.
Lownie also writes that Prince Philip later approached the guest that evening and said he and Queen Elizabeth agreed with him.
“What you said to my son today was absolutely right, and Her Majesty and I fully agree with what you said,” Philip allegedly said. “Andrew needs a good scolding from time to time.”
Andrew did not respond to a request for comment, and Buckingham Palace no longer comments on matters involving him.
The claim is especially striking because Queen Elizabeth was famously devoted to dogs, particularly corgis. After her death in September 2022, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson inherited her last two surviving corgis, Muick and Sandy, whom they had originally given to the Queen as puppies.
Dog Claim Comes Amid More Andrew Trouble
The new book claim arrives as Andrew continues to face public scrutiny following the loss of his royal status.
King Charles stripped Andrew of his remaining royal titles and removed him from Royal Lodge in 2025 amid renewed attention on his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has denied wrongdoing connected to Epstein.
Last week, Andrew was reportedly walking the Queen’s corgis near Sandringham when a masked man allegedly jumped out of a parked car and shouted at him. Andrew, who was with a private security guard, reportedly rushed to his car and drove away as the man tried to chase him.
Norfolk Police later confirmed that a man was arrested in Wolferton after allegedly behaving in an intimidating manner. The suspect has pleaded not guilty to harassment-related charges and is due back in court on July 29, where Andrew is expected to give evidence.
For Andrew, the allegations keep stacking up in strange and damaging ways: Epstein fallout, title loss, security scares, and now an alleged dog-kicking incident that even Prince Philip reportedly condemned.
