Katy Perry is facing another wave of scrutiny after older clips involving Justin Bieber and a teenage fan resurfaced online.

The clips began circulating again after Ruby Rose publicly accused Perry of misconduct tied to an alleged 2010 nightclub incident in Melbourne. Perry has denied Rose’s allegations, calling them false through a spokesperson. Still, the renewed attention has pushed fans to revisit earlier moments from Perry’s career.

One resurfaced clip, reportedly from Capital FM’s Summertime Ball in London in 2012, shows Perry interacting with Justin Bieber, who was 18 at the time. In the footage, Perry appears to place her hand on Bieber’s backside before mouthing “Sorry Selena” toward the camera, a reference to Selena Gomez, who was dating Bieber at the time.

Katy Perry Clip With Teenage Fan Resurfaces

Another clip now drawing criticism shows Perry bringing a teenage fan onstage during a concert.

The fan introduces himself as Robert while Perry asks him questions, including whether he is nervous and whether he is staying in school. She then tells him, “That’s good, you’re going to be really, really popular on Monday.”

The exchange becomes more uncomfortable when Perry asks whether he has ever been kissed. After he shakes his head no, she leans in for a kiss on the lips as the crowd reacts.

The clip appears to show the teen pulling back and avoiding the kiss. Perry then tells him, “Honey, you might be too young to understand this, but when a woman kisses you, you gotta kiss her back.”

Robert eventually gives Perry a quick kiss on the cheek before exiting the stage. Perry also references her then-husband Russell Brand being in the audience.

Fans Clash Over Whether Clip Crossed A Line

The resurfaced footage quickly divided viewers online.

Several users criticized Perry, arguing that the clips now look uncomfortable in light of the current allegations. One commenter wrote that Perry had often been “grabby” in the past and claimed it was never cool or funny.

Another called the clip “embarrassing,” while others argued the renewed backlash could damage her career.

Some users defended Perry, saying the moment was being treated too harshly years later. One commenter argued, “She was just being silly and outrageous,” adding that people should not rush to condemn her over an old stage bit.

Ruby Rose Allegations Keep Perry Under Pressure

The renewed attention follows Rose’s claim that Perry assaulted her at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne.

Rose said she initially tried to process the alleged incident by treating it like a “funny little drunk story.” She also claimed Perry later offered to help her secure a U.S. visa, which Rose said contributed to her decision not to speak out earlier.

Perry has strongly denied the allegations. “They are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” a spokesperson for Perry said.

The spokesperson also pointed to Rose’s history of making serious public claims against other people, saying those claims have repeatedly been denied by those named.

For now, Perry’s older clips have become part of a broader online debate about boundaries, fame, and how past celebrity behavior is judged when new allegations surface.
