Her daughter Sunday Rose made her first appearance at fashion’s biggest night on May 4, stepping onto the Metropolitan Museum of Art carpet beside her Oscar-winning mom. The twist? Sunday is 17, while the Met Gala reportedly has an 18-and-over attendee rule.

Sunday Rose Makes A Rule-Bending Met Gala Debut
Sunday’s debut already had people talking because of the age question.
The Met Gala is known for its strict guest list, and the age limit has long been part of the event’s mystique. Sunday, however, had a major reason to be there. Nicole was one of the 2026 co-chairs, joining Beyoncé, Venus Williams and Vogue editor Anna Wintour for the high-profile night. That likely helped explain the exception.
For Sunday, it was a major first step into one of the most watched celebrity events in the world. She attended in a Dior floral dress with a matching statement earring, leaning into the night’s ‘Fashion Is Art’ dress code with a soft, youthful look.
Nicole previously joked that Sunday might enjoy the night even more than she would. “I just get to be there for Beyoncé,” Nicole said on ‘Las Culturistas’ in March, adding of her daughter, “She loves fashion.”

Nicole, 58, had her own fashion moment in a red sequined Chanel gown with feathery sleeves. The ‘Bewitched’ actress completed the look with long blonde hair styled by Gucci Westman.
The night marked another major Met Gala role for Kidman, who was co-chairing for the third time. She shares Sunday and daughter Faith Margaret, 15, with ex-husband Keith Urban. She is also mom to Bella Cruise, 33, and Connor Cruise, 31, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Sunday’s appearance gave the evening a family angle, and it was hard to miss. Met Gala debuts are already a big deal. Doing it beside Nicole Kidman, while technically under the reported age limit, made it even more noticeable.

Kidman has been a regular standout on the Met steps.
Last year, she wore a black Balenciaga gown with gloves and blue crystal jewelry for the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ theme and ‘Tailored for You’ dress code. Her slicked-back short hairstyle also became a major part of the look.
Her stylist Adir Abergel later explained the concept on Instagram. “The inspiration was a tailored short cut that brought out the essence of Dandyism on Nicole Kidman,” he wrote. He said he wanted to honor “individuality, elegance, and confidence.”
Nicole also praised the craft behind the night. “It’s lovely to celebrate fashion and couture and tailoring,” she told Vogue, noting the designers and teams who work behind the scenes.
