Pete Davidson spent years removing tattoos from his body, but he now appears to have added new ink in a very visible place.
The former ‘Saturday Night Live’ star recently appeared at CinemaCon 2026, where fans noticed a new face tattoo on the left side of his face. The tattoo appears to spell the name of his daughter, Scottie, vertically in capital letters between his sideburn and ear.
The new ink drew attention because Davidson has been open about the long and painful process of removing many of his old tattoos, a journey that reportedly cost around $200,000.
Davidson Said Tattoo Removal Was Brutal
In a 2025 interview, Davidson described tattoo removal in blunt terms.
“It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer, and then you gotta do maintenance and let it heal properly,” he said. “And it’s pretty tough, I’m not gonna lie.”
The comedian also explained why he wanted to remove so much of his old ink. “I used to be a drug addict, and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” Davidson said.
He added that removing the tattoos helped him feel like he was starting over. “So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain,” he said.
Davidson said he did not want his body to keep reminding him of a darker period in his life.
His New Tattoo Honors His Daughter
The new face tattoo appears to have a very different meaning.
Davidson welcomed his first child, daughter Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, with actress and model Elsie Hewitt in December 2025.
Hewitt announced the birth on Instagram, writing, “Our perfect angel girl arrived 12/12/2025 Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson. My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.”
Davidson’s new ink seems to mark fatherhood rather than his past.
Still, the placement is what makes it hard to ignore. After spending years clearing his arms and body, a fresh tattoo on his face was always going to get people talking.
Davidson Has A New Movie Coming
Davidson is also preparing for another movie release.
He will appear in ‘How to Rob a Bank,’ an action-comedy heist film set for release in September. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, Zoë Kravitz, Rhenzy Feliz, John C. Reilly and Christian Slater.
The new tattoo may be personal, but it is arriving during a public career moment. Davidson is stepping back into the spotlight with a cleaner look, a new baby and one very noticeable piece of ink.
