Khloé Kardashian is revisiting one of the darkest chapters of her marriage to Lamar Odom. Netflix’s Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom looks back at his Lakers fame, their 2009 wedding and his 2015 overdose. The Lamar Odom documentary also includes painful claims about addiction, fame and Kardashian’s role in his recovery. Now, her reaction has turned the film into a fresh round of celebrity fallout.

Lamar Odom Documentary Reopens Old Wounds

The Netflix film traces Odom’s rise from NBA star to reality TV fixture. It also covers his marriage to Kardashian, which started fast and ended after years of public turmoil. The pair married in 2009, split in 2013 and finalized their divorce in 2016.

In the documentary, Odom and people close to him discuss fame as part of the attraction. Kardashian has since pushed back against that framing. On her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, she said she felt hurt by claims that he may have married her for clout.

That comment hit hard because Kardashian said she joined the film as a favor. Entertainment Weekly reported that she said she was not paid for the project. Instead, she believed her participation would help tell a fuller story.

Khloé Recalls A Breaking Point

The film also revisits Odom’s addiction and near-fatal 2015 overdose at a Nevada brothel. Kardashian delayed their divorce after the crisis and helped during his recovery. However, she said there was a point when she could no longer keep rescuing him.

People reported that Kardashian recalled finding Odom using drugs in a home she had provided after his overdose. She described that moment as a breaking point. Her account adds context to why the marriage could not recover, even after she returned to his side during the medical emergency.

Odom has also spoken about the people around him during that period. He expressed disappointment that some continued enabling his drug use. The documentary frames his recovery as messy, painful and far from the neat comeback story fans might expect.

Fame Claims Spark New Backlash

Kardashian’s biggest frustration now appears to center on how the film landed after release. Entertainment Weekly reported that she felt betrayed after Odom downplayed parts of her account in later interviews. She also objected to suggestions that her version of events was not fully reliable.

That reaction has shifted the story from an addiction documentary into a celebrity trust issue. Kardashian helped revisit the trauma, then watched the public debate her motives and memory. For a family used to controlling narratives, this one looked harder to contain.

Odom is also dealing with a separate legal issue. People reported that he pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge and two traffic violations after a January arrest in Las Vegas. A bench trial is scheduled for July 7.

For now, the documentary has done more than retell an old marriage. It has reopened the emotional bill from a relationship that never really left the tabloids. Kardashian and Odom survived the same story, but they still do not seem to agree on what it meant.
