Caitlyn Jenner is running into a problem she helped cheer into existence, and now even she is admitting it is hitting close to home.
During a recent podcast appearance, Jenner revealed that her passport now lists her as male because of the Trump administration’s trans policy, a change she says is creating real travel headaches. The striking part was not just the complaint. It was that Jenner, one of Donald Trump’s most visible celebrity supporters during the 2024 campaign, still insisted, “I don’t blame President Trump. I love him.”
That is the kind of contradiction that almost writes the headline on its own.

Caitlyn Jenner Says Trump-Era Passport Policy Is Now Affecting Her
Speaking on Tomi Lahren’s Fox Nation podcast, Jenner said her renewed passport now carries an “M” gender marker, which she described as a “big problem.” The issue stems from a Trump policy requiring federal documents, including passports, to reflect sex assigned at birth rather than gender identity.
Jenner said she even wrote Trump a letter while staying at Mar-a-Lago, asking for help with the problem. According to her, she never heard back. She also claimed she has Trump’s cell number, but chose not to call him.
Even with that frustration, Jenner refused to turn on the president. “I don’t blame President Trump. I love him,” she said, doubling down on the loyalty even while describing the fallout from the rule.
That is what made the moment so hard to ignore. Jenner was not criticizing an abstract policy. She was describing a problem that now directly affects her own life, and still defending the man behind it.
She Also Admits Republicans May Be Going Too Far
Jenner did show some cracks in the party line when the conversation turned to bathroom bans. She suggested Republicans may be “going too far to the right” on that issue, especially when it comes to forcing trans women into men’s restrooms.
“I have so many of my friends are just, you know, just gorgeous women,” Jenner said. “Trying to force these people into the men’s room. And it’s just not right. And it’s not safe.”
Still, she also leaned into the same biological framing that has defined much of the current MAGA position on trans issues. Reflecting on the ‘Woman of the Year’ award she received from Glamour in 2015, Jenner said she now feels like a “hypocrite” for accepting it while also supporting efforts to keep biological males out of women’s sports.
“I’m a biological man,” she said. “Genetically, I’m still XY.”
That left the interview hanging in a strange place. Jenner is now openly dealing with the personal consequences of a policy pushed by the movement she backed, yet she still cannot quite bring herself to break with it.
And that is why this blew up. It is not just about a passport. It is about a supporter suddenly discovering that the rules she defended do not stop at other people.
