Jenner discussed the issue during an appearance on Tomi Lahren’s podcast. She said her driver’s license, pilot’s license and Global Entry still list her as female. However, she said her passport was reissued with an “M” marker after renewal.
That mismatch, Jenner argued, creates a safety concern abroad. She said she wrote directly to Trump after visiting Mar-a-Lago. Jenner also said she has his personal number but chose not to call him. So far, she appears to be waiting for a response.
Trump Policy Hits A Famous Supporter
The State Department now says U.S. passports must show male or female markers matching biological sex at birth. The agency also says it no longer issues passports with an X marker. That policy follows Trump’s January 2025 executive order on federal recognition of sex.
Jenner has continued to support Trump, even as she criticizes this result. That contrast made the story explode online. For critics, it looked like a loyalty test arriving in real time. For Jenner, it seemed to become a personal travel problem with national stakes.
A Rare Break With Her Own Side
Jenner has often aligned herself with conservative views on transgender issues. She has especially backed restrictions involving transgender athletes in women’s sports. This passport fight puts her in a different position.
During the interview, she also pushed back on strict bathroom rules. Jenner said forcing transgender women into men’s bathrooms can create danger. That comment stood out because it challenged a common conservative talking point. It also made her frustration sound less theoretical.
The Bigger Fight Over Documents
The Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to enforce the passport policy in November 2025. That decision followed earlier legal fights over gender markers and federal documents. Advocates say the rule creates confusion, risk and distress for transgender Americans.
Jenner is not the only public figure tied to the issue. Actress Hunter Schafer previously said her passport showed a male marker after renewal. Still, Jenner’s case drew special attention because of her political ties. Few celebrity stories expose contradiction this directly.
The passport dispute comes as Jenner also deals with another personal legal matter. Recent reports say she filed a claim against the estate of Sophia Hutchins. Hutchins, Jenner’s former manager and close friend, died in 2025. Jenner claims Hutchins owed her more than $439,000 before her death.
For now, Jenner’s passport problem remains unresolved publicly. Her appeal to Trump has not produced a reported fix. Yet the larger story already has a clear hook. A policy Jenner defended from a distance has now landed inside her own life.
