Carrie Underwood isn’t letting the boos bother her.

The Grammy-winning country superstar recently addressed an unexpected moment of backlash while serving as a judge on American Idol, after a live studio audience began booing her during a tense episode.

The incident happened during Season 24’s “Hollywood Week: Music City Takeover” episode, where Underwood offered critiques to contestants as part of the judging panel.

While the singer maintained her usual professional tone, some members of the audience responded negatively to her comments, repeatedly booing her feedback.

Instead of backing down, Underwood handled the moment with confidence and a bit of humor.

“They just like to boo me,” she joked during the episode, brushing off the crowd’s reaction.

As the audience continued to react loudly, fellow judge Luke Bryan stepped in to support her, reminding the crowd that Underwood knows the competition better than almost anyone.

“She only won this. She knows,” Bryan said, referencing Underwood’s victory in Season 4 of American Idol, which launched her into global stardom.

Even with Bryan’s defense, the audience continued to heckle at times.

Underwood eventually fired back with a sharp response.

“You’re not included in the discussions,” she told the crowd, making it clear that the judging decisions belonged to the panel.

The tension reached its peak after contestant Mor performed an original song during the “Music City Takeover” audition segment.

Before delivering her critique, Underwood jokingly predicted the audience’s reaction.

“They are going to boo me,” she said to Bryan. “You guys are gonna boo me.”

But instead of avoiding the reaction, she leaned into it.

“It’s coming. Bring it on. I love it,” Underwood said confidently. “Your boos are feeding me.”

After the episode aired, the country star addressed the moment again on social media.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Underwood kept her response short and direct.

“Boo me. I don’t care.”

The message made it clear that the longtime American Idol champion—and now judge—isn’t fazed by a little audience drama.
