Jamie Lee Curtis is opening up about a deeply personal loss.

After news broke on February 23 that actor Robert Carradine had died at 71, Curtis shared an emotional tribute to the man she once called her first love. Taking to Instagram, the Halloween icon reflected on their whirlwind romance and the unforgettable memories they built together in the late 1970s.

Curtis revealed that she first met Carradine on The Dinah Shore Show, where both were introduced as second-generation Hollywood kids. She recalled how he cleverly switched seats so he could sit beside her—before boldly kissing her on live television. That spontaneous moment marked the beginning of a relationship that would shape her early adult life.

The actress also shared tender memories of bonding with Carradine’s young daughter, Ever, who was just three years old at the time. Curtis described visiting Ever in a burn unit after a serious accident and being struck by the little girl’s radiant spirit. Not long after, Curtis moved in with Carradine, embracing domestic life and stepping into a maternal role for the first time. She reminisced about simple days in Laurel Canyon—walking to the market, doing laundry, and folding tiny clothes—calling it a formative and beautiful chapter in her life.

Though their romance eventually ended, Curtis said their friendship endured over the years. She fondly remembered Carradine’s love of fast cars and carefree drives through the hills of Los Angeles. “Life takes us on unexpected journeys,” she wrote, closing her tribute with a heartfelt farewell and gratitude for the joy and laughter he brought into her world.
