On Tuesday, a new video dropped on Lee Min Jung’s YouTube channel featuring a fun and candid whiskey tasting session with Im Si Wan and a surprise appearance by her husband, acclaimed Lee Byung Hun.
In the video, Lee Min Jung invited Im Si Wan over to help her learn more about whiskey. While Lee Byung Hun was present, he only made a blink-and-you ‘ll-miss-it appearance, literally just his shoulder. Lee Min Jung joked, “The channel hasn’t hit 500,000 subscribers yet,” teasing that her husband’s full-on-screen debut is being saved for a milestone. Still, Lee Min Jung gave a quick, “Hello, I’m Lee Byung Hun,” to greet viewers.
When asked if he liked whiskey, Lee Min Jung responded with a chuckle, “Do I need to speak formally here? This feels weird,” before admitting, “I’m more of a wine guy.” He added that one advantage of whiskey is, “It gets you buzzed quickly, so it’s cost-effective.”
When Im Si Wan modestly noted, “I might not have all the facts right,” Lee Byung Hun lightened the mood with a laugh, saying, “If someone asked me to explain wine, I wouldn’t know where to start either. So I’m not trusting you 100%,” drawing smiles all around.
As the tasting got underway, Im Si Wan presented a lineup of beginner-friendly whiskies but warned, “Don’t expect too much.”
Lee Min Jung admitted, “I don’t know anything about whiskey, so I’ll probably be surprised no matter what I drink.” That gave Lee Byung Hun the perfect setup to tease his wife: “You say you don’t know much, but you sure drink a lot. I bet you’ve tried them all,” leaving her momentarily flustered.
When Im Si Wan introduced a sherry cask whiskey, Lee Min Jung cracked a pun, saying, “So this is thank you, Sherry?” playing off the Korean word for thanks. Later, when a bourbon was introduced, she quipped, “Is this what you drink in court?” prompting Lee Min Jung to join in with, “Hopefully we’re not going to court anytime soon, but I did hear if you drink too much bourbon, you just might end up there!”
The couple’s quick wit and playful back-and-forth had everyone laughing, while Im Si Wan gamely kept the lesson on track. “That’s right,” he said with a nod, continuing his whiskey insights amid the jokes.
