Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has finally made the move to Marsh Farm, but it does not sound like this was the fresh start he welcomed. The former royal is now settled into the renovated Sandringham property after weeks of delay, family concern, and growing scrutiny over the legal cloud still hanging above him.

His relocation to the five-bedroom farmhouse was completed on April 6, 2026, ending a drawn-out transition from Wood Farm, where he had been staying since February. But according to insiders, the holdup was never just about timing. It was about resistance. One source said bluntly, “He hasn’t gone quietly [from Royal Lodge] put it that way. He didn’t want to go and doesn’t want to be at Marsh Farm, but he also doesn’t have much choice.”

A Forced Move Under A Growing Cloud

Andrew’s arrival at Marsh Farm comes with legal trouble still unresolved. He remains under investigation after his February 19 arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Authorities allege he shared confidential commercial information with Jeffrey Epstein during his stint as the UK’s trade envoy in 2010.

He spent 11 hours in custody before being released without charge, but the case is still active and could reportedly widen over the coming months. That uncertainty has only deepened the sense that this move was less about comfort and more about containment.

Even so, Marsh Farm was prepared in full. The property, which had been left empty for five years, reportedly underwent major renovations before his arrival. Luxury carpets were brought in, along with modern upgrades like high-speed internet and satellite television. Security was tightened too, with CCTV, lighting, fencing, and even an airspace restriction zone added because of the home’s location near a public road.

Family Steps In As Worries Grow

The move has also exposed growing concern inside the family over Andrew’s state of mind. During Easter, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, visited him at Wood Farm in what one source described as a “brotherly welfare check” amid fears about his “fragile state of mind.”

Princess Anne has reportedly stayed in touch as well, even suggesting he could move to Gatcombe Park. Publicly, the family has kept its distance. Privately, it seems they know he is increasingly isolated.

A source summed up the tension this way: “This is a sibling issue now. Who else does he have left?” Edward has avoided getting drawn into direct comments, but earlier this year, he made one thing clear when discussing the wider Epstein scandal: “I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims and who are the victims in all this? A lot of victims in this.”

That is the balancing act now. Support the brother, but do not lose sight of the allegations. Marsh Farm may be his new home, but it hardly looks like peace has arrived with him.
