Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not done with Netflix just yet. In fact, they’re doubling down, and this time, they’re stepping into glossy, scripted drama with a world Prince Harry knows all too well.

After their 2024 docuseries Polo gave viewers a peek into the high-end sport, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now executive producing a brand-new drama set in that same elite circle. The still-untitled series will unfold in Wellington, Florida, a hub for the U.S. Open Polo Championship, where money, legacy, and rivalry collide in ways that feel straight out of a soap opera.

The show is being written by Francisca X. Hu, known for Teacup on Peacock, and promises an upstairs-downstairs style story following two feuding polo dynasties and the families behind them. Think wealth, tension, loyalty, and secrets bubbling just under the surface. The couple is teaming up again with their Archewell Productions banner, along with TV heavyweights Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the duo behind Gossip Girl and The O.C.

Sources close to the project say the idea grew out of Polo, which tracked real teams competing in Wellington and highlighted the intense family legacies tied to the sport. Prince Harry, who has played polo for years, has long been passionate about pulling back the curtain on what many see as an exclusive “sport of kings.” This time, the goal is to show there’s more going on than just privilege and champagne sidelines.

Still, the timing raises eyebrows. The Sussexes have been under increasing scrutiny lately, especially after Netflix stepped back as an investor in Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, and quietly wrapped her series With Love, Meghan after two seasons. For some fans, the question is whether this new drama can match the massive buzz of their 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan, which remains their biggest hit on the platform.

Netflix, for its part, is pushing back on any breakup chatter. “Our relationship with them remains strong,” a top executive recently said, adding that multiple film and TV projects are still in development. Behind the scenes, the Sussexes are also working on a film adaptation of Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and another project based on Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake, with a director expected to come on board soon.

Online, reactions are already split. “They’re trying everything to stay relevant,” one fan commented, while another shot back, “Honestly, a polo drama sounds kind of addictive.” Love them or question them, Harry and Meghan seem determined to keep their Hollywood chapter alive, one project at a time.
