Martin Short is preparing to return to the stage following the recent death of his daughter, Katherine.

According to a report from TMZ, the 75-year-old comedian is expected to resume his live performances with longtime friend and collaborator Steve Martin next month.

Short and Martin are scheduled to perform their two-man comedy show on April 11 at the Johnny Mercer Theatre in Savannah, Georgia. The pair currently have tour dates listed through November 14, according to Martin’s official tour page.

Their performances typically feature music from Jeff Babko and The Steep Canyon Rangers alongside the comedy duo.

Several shows originally scheduled for March were postponed following Katherine’s death on February 23. Those performances have reportedly been rescheduled for September.

Sources told TMZ that Short’s return to touring will not affect production on the upcoming season of Only Murders in the Building, the hit Hulu series starring Short, Martin and Selena Gomez.

Filming for the next season is expected to take place in London, though production is not scheduled to begin for several more months.

Following Katherine’s death, a source told the National Enquirer that the loss has been extremely difficult for the veteran comedian.

“Martin adored Katherine — the sun rose and set with her,” the source said.

“He knew she was going through a hard time mentally, but not to this extent. It’s just shocking and unfathomable to him on every level.”

Short and his late wife, Nancy Dolman, adopted three children together: Katherine, Oliver and Henry.

Dolman died in 2010 after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

According to the source, Katherine’s death has had a profound impact on the actor.

“It’s taken a wrecking ball to Martin’s world,” the insider said.

Despite the tragedy, Short is reportedly planning to move forward with his scheduled work commitments in the coming months.
