Authorities in Los Angeles have charged a woman in connection with a shooting that allegedly targeted Rihanna’s Beverly Hills residence while the singer was reportedly inside the property.
According to reports cited by Page Six, the Los Angeles Police Department has charged 35-year-old Ivana Ortiz with attempted murder following the incident. Ortiz is currently being held in custody, with bail set at approximately $10 million.
The shooting reportedly took place Sunday afternoon at the singer’s home in Beverly Hills. Law enforcement officials said officers responded to reports of gunfire at about 1:21 p.m. local time.
Investigators believe multiple shots were fired toward the property. The Los Angeles Times reported that the residence was struck by at least 10 rounds of gunfire, with one bullet reportedly penetrating the wall of the home.
Police radio dispatches indicated that the shots were allegedly fired from a rifle by someone inside a white Tesla parked across the street from the property’s gate.
Authorities later identified Ortiz as the suspect and placed her under arrest. The case remains under investigation as police continue to gather details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Rihanna owns the colonial-style mansion with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple shares the home with their three young children.
It has not been confirmed whether members of the family were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.
Police have not released additional information about a possible motive, and investigators are continuing to review evidence connected to the case.
