Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, is preparing to return to the stage in the United States with a major stadium performance in Los Angeles ahead of the release of his upcoming album Bully.
According to Variety, the rapper has scheduled a concert at SoFi Stadium for April 3. The event is being promoted as his exclusive Los Angeles performance.
A press release sent to fans on Monday said attendees can secure access by pre registering through Ye’s website. The process requires fans to preorder the forthcoming album Bully. The announcement also indicated that some preregistered fans may receive free tickets to the show.
The concert marks one of Ye’s most prominent live appearances in the United States in several years. His performances have been relatively limited following a period of controversy tied to statements made on social media and in interviews.
More recently, the artist has appeared at a small number of international events, including a performance in Mexico City earlier this year and several appearances in South Korea and China during 2024.
Ye last appeared at SoFi Stadium during the 2024 Rolling Loud festival. During that event, he joined Ty Dolla Sign for a listening party tied to their collaborative project Vultures 1.
The upcoming Los Angeles concert follows a public apology Ye recently published as a full page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal. In the letter, he addressed people he said he had hurt and attributed some of his past actions to untreated brain injuries and mental health challenges.
He wrote that those issues did not excuse his behavior and rejected accusations that he was a Nazi or antisemitic, adding that he loves Jewish people. He also apologized to the Black community, saying he was sorry for letting them down.
Ye’s next album Bully is scheduled to be released on March 27, just days before the planned stadium performance.
