Shia LaBeouf has reportedly been arrested following a violent altercation during Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans, adding another chapter to the actor’s long history of legal troubles. Authorities say the 37-year-old Transformers star was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after allegedly assaulting two men outside a venue in the city’s bustling French Quarter.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance around 12:45 a.m. amid the crowded festival atmosphere. Witnesses claim LaBeouf had been acting aggressively inside the establishment before staff asked him to leave. As employees escorted him outside, the situation reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation.
Police reports say LaBeouf allegedly struck one man multiple times with his fists before briefly leaving the area. Witnesses told authorities that he later returned and continued behaving aggressively. During the renewed confrontation, LaBeouf allegedly punched a second man in the nose while also striking the first victim again.
Bystanders eventually stepped in and restrained the actor until police arrived at the scene. LaBeouf was later taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries before being booked into custody. Authorities say he now faces two counts of simple battery in connection with the incident.
