A man questioned in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is speaking publicly for the first time, insisting he has nothing to do with the high-profile kidnapping case.

Luke Daley, a 37-year-old Arizona resident who lives near Guthrie’s home, has denied any involvement after he and his 77-year-old mother were taken into custody for questioning by investigators. Authorities have not charged Daley with any crime, but his proximity to the missing woman’s residence placed him under scrutiny during the early stages of the investigation.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her home in the Foothills area of Arizona at the end of January. She was last seen attending church on Saturday, January 31, before she was reported missing the following day. The alarming circumstances surrounding her disappearance quickly triggered a major investigation.

Police later revealed they found blood on the porch of Guthrie’s home, heightening concerns about her safety. Footage from the home’s Ring doorbell camera also captured an unidentified man on the property around the time of the incident.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the FBI as authorities work to determine what happened to Guthrie and where she may be.

Investigators also disclosed a troubling development involving Guthrie’s medical device. The app connected to her pacemaker reportedly went offline at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the day she disappeared, raising fears that she may be in serious danger.

In an effort to accelerate the search, Guthrie’s family has offered a $1 million reward for information that leads to her safe return.

Daley addressed the allegations during a nearly 14-minute video interview with True Crime Arizona host Briana Whitney. During the interview, he strongly rejected claims that he could be connected to the disappearance.

“It’s not me,” Daley said. “I don’t see any resemblance. Absolutely not. I have nothing to do with this case.”

He also criticized how quickly suspicion formed around him, suggesting that accusations had been treated as fact despite what he says is a lack of evidence.

“Someone makes an accusation and suddenly it’s treated as fact without any evidence or truth to back it up,” Daley added.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Daley remains a person of interest in the investigation. The search for Guthrie continues as law enforcement officials urge anyone with information to come forward.
