Kesha is speaking out after learning that one of her biggest hits was used in a White House TikTok video—and she is not holding back.
The 39-year-old pop star blasted the Trump administration after her 2011 track Blow was featured in a combat-themed clip posted to TikTok. The video reportedly showed a fighter jet launching a missile at a naval ship, pairing the explosive imagery with her high-energy dance anthem.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Kesha made it clear she did not approve.
“It’s come to my attention that The White House has used one of my songs on TikTok to incite violence and threaten war,” she wrote, referencing tensions that preceded the Iran conflict. She called the move “disgusting and inhumane,” adding that she “absolutely” does not support her music being used to promote violence of any kind.
The Take It Off singer doubled down, emphasizing that the tone of the video clashes with everything she stands for. “Love always trumps hate,” she wrote, urging followers to show compassion during turbulent times. She also described the messaging as a “blatant disregard for human life.”
In a sharply worded conclusion, Kesha further criticized former President Donald Trump personally, referencing his name in connection with previously reported legal controversies.
The TikTok clip in question was shared on February 10 and quickly gained attention for its militaristic visuals set to the pulsing beat of Blow. The administration has not publicly addressed Kesha’s objection.
The clash underscores a long-running issue in politics and pop culture: artists pushing back when their music is used in political contexts without their blessing.
For Kesha, the message is clear—her party anthem was never meant to be a soundtrack for war.
