Nearly ten years after their split, Josh Duhamel is offering rare perspective on why his marriage to Fergie came to an end. Speaking on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show, the actor explained that their relationship ultimately unraveled due to fundamental differences in how they viewed the world.
Duhamel said he and the singer were “very different,” noting that their perspectives simply didn’t align long-term. The former couple married in 2009, separated in 2017, and finalized their divorce in 2019. They share a 12-year-old son, Axl, whom Duhamel described as the lasting positive from their time together.
Despite the breakup, Duhamel emphasized that there is no lingering resentment. He spoke positively about Fergie, calling her a devoted mother, and also praised his current wife, Audra Mari. According to Duhamel, the two women maintain a respectful and cooperative relationship, which he says has been crucial for their blended family dynamic.
Now a father of two—he and Mari share a young son—Duhamel acknowledged that balancing career demands with parenting can be challenging. However, he said his priority remains being present for his children whenever possible, underscoring a focus on stability and collaboration rather than past conflict.
