Stephen Colbert went all in on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after a head-scratching workout video featuring the Health and Human Services Secretary and Kid Rock started making the rounds online—and it wasn’t just the flexing that caught his attention.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show, Colbert zeroed in on one glaring detail: RFK Jr. working out in tight blue jeans. The late-night host mocked the now-viral clip, which opens with a shirtless Kennedy and Kid Rock posing in front of a mounted bear before launching into a sped-up fitness routine.

Colbert described the video as an “unexpected offering” from the Trump administration official, joking that it felt like a strange fever dream. He compared the surreal energy to someone putting together a chaotic slideshow after a questionable night out—but said he was willing to press on for the sake of comedy.

The real punchline, however, was Kennedy’s wardrobe. As the politician powered through crunches and push-ups—at one point inside a sauna—Colbert couldn’t get past the denim. He called it “madness,” questioning why anyone would choose jeans over gym shorts for a sweat session. He joked that the pants looked permanently attached, like part of an action figure that can’t be removed.

Colbert continued riffing on the impracticality of sauna workouts in heavy denim, imagining the inevitable discomfort. He repeatedly asked why Kennedy seemed “allergic to shorts,” poking fun at the rigid, all-American look even in a steamy gym setting.

The segment ended with one final dig at the duo’s over-the-top vibe, including footage of them unwinding in a hot tub with glasses of whole milk. For Colbert, the entire production felt less like a public health campaign and more like a bizarre buddy video that practically begged for late-night ridicule.
