Kid Rock is stirring the pot after weighing in on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance—and he did not sugarcoat it.
While Bad Bunny commanded the stage at Levi’s Stadium in front of millions, Kid Rock was headlining a competing halftime event streamed through Turning Point’s platform. Now the rocker is making it clear he was not exactly impressed by what unfolded on the NFL’s biggest stage.
Speaking to Fox News, Rock admitted he struggled to connect with Bad Bunny’s performance, referencing the fact that the set was delivered entirely in Spanish. He said he “couldn’t make heads or tails of it,” adding that the show simply was not for him.
That said, Rock stopped short of directly attacking the Puerto Rican superstar. He acknowledged that Bad Bunny took advantage of a massive global platform and performed for a worldwide audience. His real frustration, he suggested, was aimed at the NFL’s decision-making. Rock questioned why the league chose that direction for halftime, while also taking a swipe at Turning Point for feeling the need to offer an alternative show in the first place.
Still, the numbers tell their own story. Rock’s competing halftime stream reportedly drew more than 20 million views on YouTube, a sizable digital crowd by any measure. But Bad Bunny’s official Super Bowl halftime performance more than doubled that figure, pulling in over 47 million views and dominating social media conversation.
As reactions continue to roll in, the contrast between the two performances has only fueled debate online. And in classic Kid Rock fashion, his comments have ensured the conversation is far from over.
