

The entertainment world is mourning the untimely death of actor Kang Seo Ha (real name Kang Ye Won).
Sports Kyunghyang reports that Kang Seo Ha lost her battle with cancer on Monday morning. She was just 31 years old. The wake is being held at Room 8 of the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital in Banpo-dong, Seoul.
Despite her illness, Kang Seo Ha remained active in her career until recently, completing filming for the movie In the Net. Sources close to the actress reveal that she maintained a positive attitude and continued to care for those around her until the very end, a testament to her warm-hearted nature.
An outpouring of tributes from friends and colleagues on social media has intensified the sense of loss felt by many in the industry.
A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, Kang Seo Ha made her entertainment debut in 2012, appearing in the music video for “Farther Away” by the group Brave Guys. Her acting career took off with a role in the JTBC drama Schoolgirl Detectives.
Kang Seo Ha went on to showcase her versatility and talent in a string of popular dramas, including Assembly, Flowers of the Prison, First Love Again, Through the Waves, Heart Surgeons: Two Lives One Heart, and Nobody Knows.
In 2023, Kang Seo Ha signed with Insight MCN, a joint venture between Insight Entertainment, the production company behind the musical Those Days, and creator management firm Showtime Crew.
The funeral service is scheduled for 7:40 AM on July 16, with a memorial to be held at Seoul Memorial Park. Kang Seo Ha will be laid to rest in her ancestral hometown of Ham-an, Gyeongnam.
