Gong Hyo Jin has officially lined up her next project.
According to Sports Chosun, Gong Hyo Jin will star alongside actor Jung Joon Won in the upcoming drama A Bona Fide Killer (working title). The series is based on a popular Korean webtoon originally serialized on Kakao, promising a unique blend of dark comedy and action.
The story centers on Yoo Bo Na, a skilled assassin, infamously known as the Bona Fide Killer, who returns to her secret organization after a three-year maternity leave. As the series unfolds, it explores Bo Na’s double life as a devoted wife and mother by day and a deadly operative by night. Her husband, increasingly suspicious of her odd behavior, begins to investigate the secrets she’s hiding.
Gong Hyo Jin takes on the lead role as Yoo Bo Na, a department head at her company’s Sales Team 3, who was once feared in the underground world as the sniper Kingfisher. Now a wife and mother to a three-year-old daughter named Yul, Bo Na is determined to protect the fragile peace she’s built despite the chaos that threatens it.
Jung Joon Won plays her husband, Kwon Tae Sung, a journalist whose growing suspicions add tension and emotional depth to the narrative.

Gong Hyo Jin is widely recognized as Korea’s Queen of Romantic Comedies, thanks to her beloved performances in hit dramas such as When the Camellia Blooms (KBS2), Don’t Dare to Dream, and It’s Okay, That’s Love.
Beyond the screen, Gong Hyo Jin’s personal life has also made headlines. In October 2022, she married Korean-American singer Kevin Oh in a private ceremony in New York City. Kevin Oh, who is ten years younger than Gong, enlisted for his mandatory military service in December 2023 and was officially discharged on Tuesday.
In a recent livestream, Gong Hyo Jin shared that she plans to move to the U.S. now that her husband has completed his service. “I need to get ready to live in America,” she told fans. “We’re heading there as soon as he’s out,” sparking excitement about their next chapter together.
