Lim Ji Yeon is set to excite audiences with another captivating performance in her upcoming role.

According to Ilgan Sports, Lim Ji Yeon has been cast as the female lead in SBS’s highly anticipated drama Brave New World. The production is expected to start filming later this year, with a premiere slated for early 2024.

Brave New World promises to deliver a thrilling and tumultuous love story, pitting Shin Seo Ri, a notorious villainess from the Joseon Dynasty, against Cha Se Gye, a ruthless modern-day billionaire heir.

In this complex role, Lim Ji Yeon will portray Shin Seo Ri, a struggling actress whose body is possessed by the spirit of a notorious femme fatale from the Joseon era. Once a high-ranking royal concubine who nearly brought down a dynasty before facing execution, Shin Seo Ri is mysteriously transported to the 21st century, where she must navigate a very different world. With her impressive range, Lim Ji Yeon is expected to bring incredible depth and nuance to this multi-dimensional character.

This is not Lim Ji Yeon’s first venture into playing a villain. She recently earned widespread acclaim for her role as Park Yeon Jin in Netflix’s hit series The Glory. The drama, which explores themes of revenge and childhood trauma, featured Lim Ji Yeon as a former school bully who becomes the target of a long-brewing revenge plot.

Fans of Lim Ji Yeon can also look forward to her upcoming role in the tvN drama Annoying Love. This romantic comedy centers on an actor specializing in detective roles who aspires to become a master of melodrama, and a political reporter who is unexpectedly transferred to the entertainment desk. Lim Ji Yeon will star opposite Lee Jung Jae, and the pairing promises sizzling chemistry on screen.
