Production stills featuring Choi Yoon Ji and Kim Min Kyu from the highly anticipated tvN Monday–Tuesday romance Love, Take Two were released on Tuesday, and fans are already swooning.
This youth-centered series explores the tender, bittersweet echoes of first love through its two leads, evoking nostalgia and heart-fluttering excitement even from these early glimpses.
Love, Take Two tells the story of an unexpected second chapter in life, when a single mom and her med-student daughter choose to embrace today’s happiness rather than wait for tomorrow. More than just a romance, it’s about rediscovering first love later in life. The show promises a perfect mix of lighthearted moments, emotional depth, and heartfelt charm that’s sure to resonate with viewers.

Choi Yoon Ji stars as Lee Hyo Ri, a once-dedicated medical student who becomes a free-spirited wanderer. Kim Min Kyu plays Ryu Bo Hyun, a young farmer managing a flower farm. Hyo Ri is the daughter of Lee Ji An (played by Yum Jung Ah), and Bo Hyun is the son of Ryu Jung Seok (played by Park Hae Joon). Their fateful meeting sparks a warm, intriguing exploration of uncharted emotions.
The newly released photos heighten anticipation, showcasing the fresh and natural chemistry between Hyo Ri and Bo Hyun. In one shot, Hyo Ri wears an expression of deep ennui, as if drained of passion and purpose. Yet, scenes of her outside the hospital, free from her doctor’s coat, hint at a rebellious spirit yearning for adventure.

Equally captivating is an image of Bo Hyun cradling a bouquet of flowers. His calm, stoic gaze toward Hyo Ri, combined with the delicate flowers, invites curiosity about how their relationship will unfold.
Reflecting on her role, Choi Yoon Ji shared, “During my first audition, I was moved to tears just reading Hyo Ri’s lines. That moment solidified my desire to bring her story to life.” She added, “Preparing for later auditions, I had many heartfelt conversations with my mother. Our genuine bond helped me connect deeply with the character.”

Choi Yoon Ji further explained her approach: “Hyo Ri isn’t someone who openly shows her emotions, so I focused on subtle non-verbal cues, silences and meaningful glances. My biggest challenge was expressing the contrast between her cool exterior and her inner feelings.” She added, “I don’t see Hyo Ri as defensive, but incredibly perceptive. I wanted to bring out the deep longing beneath her icy facade.”
Kim Min Kyu opened up about his preparation, saying, “Before auditioning, I binge-watched Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha several times. I’ve always admired director Yoo Je Won’s work, so I saw this as a golden opportunity and gave it my all.” He expressed excitement about joining the cast: “I’ve always wanted to be part of a project that feels truly human, and Love, Take Two fits that perfectly.”

Describing his character, Kim Min Kyu said, “Ryu Bo Hyun’s charm lies in the endearing clumsiness hidden beneath his seemingly perfect exterior.” He teased, “While Bo Hyun becomes a solid support for Hyo Ri, he also carries his own hidden wounds. Their relationship sparks his personal growth,” hinting at a compelling character arc.

Promising a fresh take on youth and romance, Love, Take Two is set to premiere on August 4.
