Mary Kills People is set to premiere next month, and the network has released a powerful scene showcasing a tense first encounter between stars Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki.

Mary Kills People is a suspenseful series that explores the complicated world of a doctor who helps terminally ill patients choose to end their lives on their own terms, and the detective determined to expose her.

Lee Bo Young plays Woo So Jung, an emergency room physician who secretly assists patients with end-of-life decisions. Lee Min Ki takes on the role of Jo Hyun Woo, a man facing terminal cancer. This drama marks the first time these two acclaimed actors have shared the screen, and viewers can expect deeply emotional performances as they navigate the delicate boundary between life and death.

In the newly revealed scene, Woo So Jung confronts Jo Hyun Woo, who lies in a hospital bed with an IV in his arm and a visible injury on his face. As Woo So Jung expresses a mixture of shock and raw emotion, Hyun Woo meets her gaze with unnerving calm and composure.

The intense eye contact between the two creates a gripping tension that hints at the complex and potentially dark relationship developing between doctor and patient, one centered on assisted death.

Both Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki reportedly spent significant time before filming digging deep into their characters and discussing the emotional stakes involved. On set, their nuanced performances and perfectly timed exchanges impressed the crew, adding layers of depth to the story.

Lee Bo Young praised her co-star, saying, “The chemistry with Lee Min Ki was incredible. I was especially amazed by how well he prepared; he had the entire script memorized and didn’t even need to bring it to set.”

Lee Min Ki returned the compliment, sharing, “Working with Lee Bo Young made me feel at ease. She’s such a talented professional that I wanted to rise to the occasion and match her energy.”

With the premiere just weeks away, this emotionally charged encounter has only heightened excitement for what promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking series.
