JD Vance and Usha Vance are facing fresh marriage speculation after a rare public moment together sparked online chatter.
A video of the couple stepping off Air Force Two began circulating on X, with viewers focusing on the distance between the vice president and his heavily pregnant wife.
Usha, 40, is currently seven months pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, a boy expected in late July. In the clip, she appeared to walk down the stairs ahead of JD, 41, while he paused near the top to wave. Once she reached the tarmac, Usha moved quickly toward the waiting car without stopping for her husband.
That was enough for social media to start guessing.
Usha Vance Clip Sparks Marriage Speculation
Online reaction to the video was immediately split.
Some viewers saw tension. “I see two people who look like they aren’t happy, or even speaking to each other,” one person wrote. Another claimed, “Looks more like she’s running away from him.” A third added, “The distance between them is something.”
Others pushed back, arguing that the internet was reading far too much into a brief clip of a pregnant woman getting off a plane. “I see a very pregnant mommy moving a little faster than her hubby, most likely because the baby is pushing on her bladder,” one commenter wrote. That explanation may be less dramatic, but probably more realistic.
Still, the clip arrived after earlier rumors about the couple’s marriage, so it quickly became another piece of online evidence for people already looking for signs of trouble.
Wedding Ring Rumors Hit The Couple Before
This is not the first time Usha has been pulled into divorce speculation.
In late 2025, people noticed that she had appeared at several events without her wedding ring. The missing band sparked enough chatter that her spokeswoman issued a rare explanation.
The spokeswoman said Usha is “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
Usha later gave her own blunt answer in a December 2025 interview. “I wear it when I wear it, and I don’t when I don’t,” she said.
JD also said the couple found the attention strange enough to laugh about. “I think that we kind of get a kick out of it,” he told NBC News.
JD Says Marriage Is Strong
The Vances married in June 2014 after meeting at Yale Law School. They are already parents to sons Ewan, 8, and Vivek, 6, and daughter Maribel, 4. Their fourth child is expected this summer.
JD has previously said their marriage remains solid despite the scrutiny that came with his rise to the vice presidency. “Our marriage is as strong as it’s ever been,” he said.
He also said Usha had adjusted to becoming second lady after leaving her job as a civil litigator in 2024, when Donald Trump selected him as his running mate. “With anything in life, you take the good with the bad,” JD said.
For now, there is no confirmed sign of a split. There is only a short airport clip, a pregnant woman walking quickly to a car, and an internet determined to turn body language into a marriage diagnosis.
