Donald Trump’s close relationship with White House aide Natalie Harp is getting fresh attention after reports claimed he uses a surprisingly familiar nickname for her.
The president reportedly refers to Harp, 35, as “sweetie,” a pet name that has added fuel to online chatter about their unusually close working dynamic. Harp is frequently seen near Trump and has become one of the more visible aides in his inner circle.
The nickname alone may not mean much. The rest of the reported details are what made people pause.
Trump Reportedly Calls Natalie Harp ‘Sweetie’
According to reports cited by The Mirror, Trump often refers to Harp as “sweetie” when addressing her. There do not appear to be widely circulated videos showing him using the term toward her, but the claim has still gained traction online.
Harp’s own reported language about Trump has also drawn scrutiny. She allegedly sent multiple letters to the president, including one in which she described him as her “guardian and protector in this life.” In other reported remarks, she allegedly wrote, “I don’t ever want to let you down” and “You are all that matters to me.” Those claims have turned a staff relationship into a much bigger online talking point.
Natalie Harp Said Trump Saved Her Life
Harp’s loyalty to Trump has been public for years.
In 2019, she spoke at Liberty University and said she believed Trump had saved her life. Harp linked that claim to her experience with stage 2 bone cancer and access to an experimental treatment through the Right to Try Act, which Trump signed. The law allows certain terminally ill patients to seek access to treatments that have not yet been broadly approved.
Harp later joined Trump’s political circle. She served on his 2020 campaign advisory board, spoke at the Republican National Convention, and later worked as a host for One America News Network.
When Trump launched his 2024 campaign, Harp returned as an aide and eventually became a research adviser and assistant.

Harp’s Role Around Trump Raises Questions
Harp reportedly plays a hands-on role in Trump’s daily communications.
She has been described as someone who transcribes social media posts as Trump dictates them and may help publish approved posts on Truth Social. She also reportedly prints favorable news coverage for him, which led to the “human printer” nickname.
Her presence on Trump’s recent China trip brought even more attention. Online users began speculating about the nature of their closeness, especially after photos and travel details spread.
One user claimed Harp was Trump’s “type,” while another bluntly asked whether the relationship was more than professional. Others mocked the speculation by referencing Trump’s age and health.
Nothing in the public record confirms anything beyond a close working relationship. Still, in Trump’s orbit, even a nickname can become a full political sideshow.
