Tobey Maguire rumors are back, and Marvel fans know exactly why this one exploded. A new insider claim says Maguire may return as Spider-Man in “Avengers: Doomsday.” Marvel has not confirmed his casting, so the chatter remains firmly in rumor territory. Still, after “No Way Home,” fans are ready to believe almost anything.

Tobey Maguire Rumors Hit Doomsday

The latest wave started after insider account MyTimeToShineHello posted that “Tobey is in Doomsday.” IBTimes UK reported that the claim followed earlier chatter from Daniel Richtman. Richtman reportedly said Maguire would return as Peter Parker and use a CGI-enhanced suit. That detail quickly split fans, because nostalgia only goes so far with superhero purists.

Maguire’s last Spider-Man return became one of Marvel’s biggest crowd-pleasing moments. His entrance in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” paired him with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland. Theater reaction clips turned the reveal into a full online event. Now, fans want that same rush again, but on an Avengers-sized stage.

Avengers Doomsday Keeps Growing

Marvel’s official page lists “Avengers: Doomsday” for a Dec. 18, 2026, theatrical release. The studio has also teased major returns, including Steve Rogers, Thor and the X-Men. Robert Downey Jr. leads the villain side as Doctor Doom, according to Marvel’s official materials. Joe and Anthony Russo direct the film, giving fans another “Endgame” connection to obsess over.

The confirmed cast already makes the movie feel packed. IMDb lists Downey, Pedro Pascal, Chris Hemsworth and Vanessa Kirby among the top names. GamesRadar also reported that Ebon Moss-Bachrach described the project as huge and still shifting. That kind of scale makes surprise cameos feel less impossible.

Spider-Man Fans Want the Big Swing

The biggest rumored hook involves Maguire’s Spider-Man joining Deadpool and Wolverine in an opening action sequence. That claim has not been verified by Marvel. Still, it carries the exact mix of chaos and nostalgia that fuels MCU speculation. Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Maguire would make a very loud internet moment.

Maguire has also sounded open to another Spider-Man return. In “Spider-Man: No Way Home” promotional material, he said he would say yes to another Spider-Man thing. That quote keeps following every new rumor about his future. It also gives fans a reason to keep watching for smoke.

For now, Maguire’s “Doomsday” return remains unconfirmed. Marvel has plenty of official names already, but the multiverse thrives on secrets. If the rumor proves true, “Avengers: Doomsday” could turn nostalgia into its sharpest weapon. If not, the speculation still shows how powerful Maguire’s Spider-Man remains.
