Megyn Kelly did not hold back after seeing Lauren Sánchez at the 2026 Met Gala.
The conservative commentator took aim at Sánchez’s red carpet appearance on ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’, criticizing her face, outfit, and rumored cosmetic work in a harsh on-air segment. Sánchez, 56, attended the event as an honorary chair alongside fiancé Jeff Bezos, though Bezos did not walk the red carpet with her.
Kelly’s comments quickly added another layer of controversy to an already tense Met Gala, which faced boycott calls over Bezos and Sánchez’s involvement.
Megyn Kelly Says The Issue Was ‘The Face’

Kelly said the main problem with Sánchez’s Met Gala look was not the outfit.
“The biggest ‘problem’ with Lauren Sánchez’s Met Gala look wasn’t her dress,” Kelly said. “Here’s the problem with her… She is so pulled and prodded. She looks… like an alien, which is perfect given what she did with outer space.” Sánchez recently traveled to space on a Blue Origin mission with Katy Perry and Gayle King.
Kelly continued, “It’s not the dress, which was a bore, it’s the face. It is the face.” She then accused Sánchez of going too far with cosmetic work, telling her to find a different surgeon and remove filler from her face and lips.
Kelly Targets Cosmetic Surgery Speculation
Kelly also criticized Sánchez’s cheeks, lips, and eyes, claiming the changes had altered her appearance.
“The online people are saying she has more plastic in her face than a Tupperware factory,” Kelly said. “And that’s how it looks to me, too. It’s just, it’s too much.”
Kelly also acknowledged her own cosmetic work, saying she uses Botox but can still move her eyebrows.
She then suggested Sánchez should consider a different approach, comparing it to Kris Jenner’s reported facelift.
The comments were blunt even by Kelly’s standards, and they turned Sánchez’s Met Gala appearance into another online debate about cosmetic surgery, wealth, and celebrity beauty standards.
Bezos And Sánchez Faced Met Gala Backlash

Sánchez’s appearance was already drawing attention because she and Bezos served as honorary chairs after reportedly donating $10 million to sponsor the Met Gala.
Outside the event, protesters gathered as part of a “Resistance Red Carpet” demonstration. Some signs linked Bezos to President Donald Trump, while others attacked the billionaire directly.
Several high-profile names also skipped the gala amid boycott calls, including Zendaya, Meryl Streep, Bella Hadid, and Zohran Mamdani.
Kelly also criticized Sánchez’s styling, saying the look felt dull and accusing her of trying to channel Kardashian-style glamour.
For Kelly, the Met Gala look was a miss. For Sánchez’s critics, it became another reason to pile on. For everyone else, it was one more reminder that the 2026 Met Gala was never going to be just about fashion.
