Brooks Nader is stepping into ‘Baywatch’, and her family needed a second to process it. While her parents were initially shocked by her acting debut, her sisters became emotional after seeing her in the show’s signature red bodysuit. The moment felt full circle for Nader, who previously wore a red bodysuit for her ‘Sports Illustrated’ cover and is now moving from modeling and beachside shoots into her first major acting role.
The ‘Love Thy Nader’ star is set to appear in Fox’s upcoming reboot of the famous 1990s lifeguard drama, which is expected to premiere during the 2026-2027 season. Nader will play Selene, described as the sharp-tongued captain of the Zuma Beach lifeguards.
At the 2026 Fox Upfront in New York City, Nader said her parents, Holland Greene Nader and Breaux Nader, were stunned when she first told them she had booked the role. “They were like, ‘You’re acting now?’” Nader said, laughing. “I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’”

More Details On The Reboot
The new ‘Baywatch’ series will follow Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell, as he works as a Baywatch captain in the shadow of his legendary father, Mitch Buchannon, the character made famous by David Hasselhoff in the original show.
Nader’s character, Selene, is expected to clash with Hobie over their very different styles of saving lives.
“While [Selene] is excellent at her job, she and Baywatch Captain Hobie Buchannon have a very different approach to saving lives that is a constant source of friction,” the official description says.
The cast also includes Shay Mitchell, Livvy Dunne, and Noah Beck, giving the reboot a mix of TV names, sports fame, and social media pull.
Nader’s Dad Gave Her Simple Acting Advice
Nader said her parents eventually got past the initial surprise. Her father even gave her advice that helped before a major scene.
Growing up, Nader used to put on plays with her sisters, Mary Holland, Grace Ann, and Sarah Jane, who now appear with her on ‘Love Thy Nader’.
On her first day filming ‘Baywatch’, Nader said she had a “big scene,” and her dad told her to think of it like childhood again. He told her to imagine she was “just playing pretend like you did with your sisters.” “I was like, ‘You’re right. It ain’t that serious,’” Nader said. “That helped me so much.”
Although ‘Baywatch’ marks Nader’s acting debut, she is already familiar with beachside shoots. However, she is still taking this role very seriously. “It’s such a big moment, and I’m so honored to be a part of it.” For Nader, it is, after all, her first real acting test, and even her shocked parents seem to be coming around.
