Kris Jenner says Ozempic made her feel so sick that she had to stop taking it.
The 70-year-old Kardashian-Jenner matriarch opened up about her experience on the May 5 episode of the ‘She MD’ podcast, hosted by Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney. Jenner said she tried Ozempic before the Type 2 diabetes drug became a major Hollywood weight-loss talking point.
Her reaction was rough. “I tried it,” Jenner said. “We tried it once when no one knew what it was, and it made me really sick.”
Kris Jenner Says Ozempic Made Her Too Sick To Work
Jenner said the nausea became bad enough that she called Dr. Aliabadi, her personal physician, for help.
“I called her up one day,” Jenner recalled. “And I go, ‘I can’t work anymore. I can’t, I’m so sick. I can’t like, nauseous.’”
According to Jenner, Aliabadi told her, “Okay, okay, let’s try something else.”
Jenner did not describe Ozempic as a long-term solution for her. Instead, she said the side effects pushed her to move in another direction.
She clarified that she is no longer taking Ozempic and is not using GLP-1 peptide injections.
Jenner Says Supplements Became A ‘Game Changer’
After stopping Ozempic, Jenner said she worked with Aliabadi to find a different approach. She said she eventually used supplements and peptide injections, though she did not specify which type of injections.
For Jenner, the supplements made a major difference.
“I felt like I had more energy,” she said. “And of course, it’s good for hair, and nails, and skin and all of that stuff.”
She called the change “a game changer,” saying it helped her stay awake longer at night despite her early schedule.
“That actually bought me an extra couple hours at night,” Jenner said. “Because I get up so early, I tend to want to go and collapse as soon as I have my last email or my last call or see my kids and have dinner and I’m done.”
Kris Jenner Focuses On Preventive Health
Jenner said the experience made her pay closer attention to hormone health and regular testing.
“It was really a game changer for me, because when you look at your thyroid, you look at your hormone health, you look at what your body needs,” she said.
She also revealed that she gets blood work done every three months to monitor her hormone levels.
“I get my blood drawn every three months just to keep my hormones balanced,” Jenner explained.
Jenner said she realized after 45 how important hormone health could be, adding that she encourages her son to check his levels too.
The ‘Kardashians’ star has long been open about using preventive care, including high-tech screenings, full-body MRIs, and routine blood work.
For Jenner, the Ozempic experiment did not last. The side effects were too much, and her reason for quitting was blunt: she felt too sick to function.
