Marvel fans are already treating the “Avengers: Endgame” re-release like a crime scene. The studio has confirmed the blockbuster returns to theaters on Sept. 25, 2026. The bigger twist is the new footage tied to “Avengers: Doomsday.” Now, one Doctor Doom theory is turning Tony Stark’s final snap into a possible warning sign.

Doctor Doom Theory Rewrites The Snap

The new fan theory starts with one simple question. What if Tony Stark’s last act did more than defeat Thanos? In “Endgame,” the Infinity Stones produced a massive energy event when Stark used them. Fans now wonder whether that blast could have reached someone powerful enough to notice.

That is where Doctor Doom enters the chat. Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the MCU as Doom in “Avengers: Doomsday.” That casting already made fans connect Doom to Tony Stark’s legacy. So the idea that Doom may study, track, or exploit Stark’s snap has gained fresh traction online.

New Endgame Footage Fuels Speculation

Marvel announced the “Endgame” re-release months ago through its official site. Then Joe Russo raised the stakes. Forbes reported that Russo said new footage added to the film is set in the “Doomsday” story. GamesRadar+ also reported that Russo called the rerelease a “critical companion story.”

That wording gave theory culture a full tank of gas. Fans are not expecting a random deleted scene anymore. They are looking for a bridge between the Infinity Saga and Marvel’s next Avengers event. If Doom appears, or even gets teased, it could change how viewers read the ending.

How The Theory Could Work

One version says Doom detected the snap as a cosmic signal. Another says he found leftover Infinity Stone energy after the battle. A third suggests the snap weakened reality and flagged Earth as a multiversal pressure point. None of those ideas has been confirmed by Marvel.

Still, they fit Doom’s comic-book reputation. He blends science, power, ego, and mysticism in ways few Marvel villains can match. That makes him an easy candidate for a character who could understand what Stark unleashed. It also gives Marvel a way to tie Downey’s new role to the franchise’s most famous sacrifice.

The Guardian recently argued that Marvel may be using the re-release to simplify the Multiverse Saga before “Doomsday.” That would make “Endgame” feel less like a closed door and more like a hidden setup. The studio has not confirmed any Doctor Doom reveal in the new footage. Still, fans will watch every frame like Doom has been hiding there all along.
