Heather Shaw is done playing along with the internet’s latest Jim Carrey spiral. After conspiracy videos about Carrey’s face started blowing up online, the comedian and famous doppelganger found herself dragged straight into the chaos, with people joking, and in some cases insisting, that she is somehow his “clone.” Shaw has now responded in the bluntest way possible, and the internet still is not buying it.

Heather Shaw Shuts Down the Wildest Jim Carrey Theory

Shaw said she was on a flight when people began tagging her nonstop in clips of Carrey’s recent red carpet appearance after the Cesar Awards. As speculation around his new look picked up speed, she decided to address it herself.

“Everyone keeps tagging me saying that I’m his clone,” Shaw said. “I’m not his (explicit) clone.”

She joked that if she really were some secret replacement version of Jim Carrey, she would not be sitting in an airport in New York. She would be “in a mansion somewhere.” Then she got to the part she clearly wanted people to hear most.

“Replaced with what? It’s just face work,” she said. Shaw argued that people were overreacting to normal Hollywood cosmetic tweaks, adding that Carrey looks like “a normal aging guy that also got some Botox and fillers.” In her view, there is no mystery here. Just aging, cosmetic work, and the internet losing its mind.

Viral Comments Only Made the Conspiracy Talk Wilder

Shaw leaned even harder into the joke in a follow-up video. “I’m still here. A lesbian who looks like a man. Vintage Jim Carrey face,” she said, before repeating that the clone theories are crazy.

That first video quickly pulled in more than 1.1 million views, and the comments did not calm down. Quite the opposite. Some viewers treated her denial as proof that the theory must be true. “That’s exactly what Jim Carrey’s replacement clone would say,” one person wrote. Another joked, “You look more like Jim Carrey than the fake Jim Carrey looks like Jim Carrey.”

In a second clip, Shaw said people are acting insane and questioned the logic behind the theory. If a celebrity were replaced by a clone, she asked, why would that clone look older, more altered, or less convincing? Her answer was pretty simple. People do not understand aging, cosmetic procedures, or the pressure stars face in Hollywood, so they fill in the gaps with nonsense.

Heather Shaw Has Plenty Going On Beyond the Jim Carrey Frenzy

The timing is a bit ridiculous for Shaw, who has had a busy year that has nothing to do with internet rabbit holes. She recently married her longtime partner Lilly Jean Coiner in a New Year’s Eve wedding with gothic vibes in Louisville, Kentucky.

She is also still building a massive audience through stand-up and social media, where she has nearly 3 million TikTok followers and more than 882,000 Instagram followers. She is currently on tour, with upcoming stops including Philadelphia and Boston.

For now, though, none of that is stopping people from flooding her comments with clone jokes, replacement theories, and wild guesses about Jim Carrey’s face. Shaw has made her position very clear. She is not a clone, and she thinks the whole thing has gotten absurd.
