CBS is locking in the end of its current season, and a few dates stand out fast. The network has mapped out a full stretch of CBS finales for spring, with several of its biggest shows closing in rapid succession. That includes the NCIS franchise, Tracker, Ghosts, Matlock, Survivor, and a handful of series ending for good. Some exits feel expected, while others add a sharper twist to CBS’ late-season lineup. Either way, the network is heading into summer with a crowded and closely watched finish.
Matlock starts the final stretch
CBS kicks off its finale rollout on April 23 with the Season 2 closer for Matlock. The reboot, led by Kathy Bates, opened with real curiosity and now gets the first major sendoff on the schedule. From there, the network moves quickly into May, when several scripted titles reach key turning points. Watson closes on May 3, ending its run after two seasons. A week later, The Neighborhood and DMV both bow out on May 11, giving CBS one of its most notable farewell nights of the month.

CBS finales put NCIS and Colbert in focus
The NCIS brand again sits near the center of CBS’ spring wrap-up. NCIS: Origins ends May 5, while the flagship NCIS closes its 23rd season on May 12. NCIS: Sydney follows that same night with a two-hour finale block, giving the franchise a strong late push. Then on May 21, CBS packs in one of its busiest nights of the season. Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, Ghosts, and Elsbeth all end their current runs before The Late Show with Stephen Colbert signs off later that night.
That Colbert finale lands with extra weight because it marks the end of an eight-season run. In a schedule filled with season closers, that one reads as a true TV moment.
A busy May sends CBS into summer
CBS also has reality and unscripted finales spread across the month. America’s Culinary Cup wraps May 13, followed by 48 Hours on May 16 and 60 Minutes on May 17. Survivor then gets a three-hour Season 50 finale on May 20, which could easily become one of the network’s biggest spring events. Fire Country, Sheriff Country, Boston Blue, Marshals, and Tracker all follow in the final stretch of May. Hollywood Squares closes the slate on May 27.
Taken together, the calendar shows CBS clearing space with purpose. Veteran hits are still holding their ground, but several series are also leaving the board. That mix makes this finale season feel less routine and more like the setup for a bigger reset. For viewers, the dates are now official. For CBS, the next question is what comes after the lights go down.
