Rumors about potential cast changes in Netflix’s hit drama Bridgerton have recently picked up steam, with many wondering whether two of the show’s youngest characters might eventually be recast. As the popular Regency-era series moves toward its later seasons, speculation has focused on Hyacinth and Gregory Bridgerton and whether the actors who began the series as children will continue playing the roles as the storylines grow more mature.

The conversation gained traction after the show previously recast Francesca Bridgerton. Actress Hannah Dodd stepped into the role originally played by Ruby Stokes due to scheduling conflicts ahead of Francesca’s major storyline. That casting change naturally raised questions among viewers about whether similar shifts might happen with the remaining younger siblings as their stories take center stage.

However, recent comments from those connected to the franchise suggest a recast may not be necessary. According to updates circulating in early 2026, the current actors portraying Hyacinth and Gregory remain firmly part of the long-term plan. Florence Hunt and Will Tilston, who have played the characters since the show debuted, are still attached to the project as future seasons take shape.

Author Julia Quinn, whose bestselling novels inspired the series, recently addressed the topic while speaking with Us Weekly. Quinn noted that the lengthy production timeline for Bridgerton may actually work in the actors’ favor. Because the show releases seasons gradually, the performers will likely be well into their twenties by the time their characters’ romantic storylines arrive.

Quinn also pointed out that audiences are used to watching young actors grow up on long-running television shows. In her view, maintaining the same cast could provide continuity for viewers who have followed the Bridgerton family since the series first premiered in 2020. That familiarity, she suggested, could make the eventual spotlight seasons for Hyacinth and Gregory feel more rewarding.

Interestingly, both Hunt and Tilston turned 19 in early 2026, placing them at a similar age to Phoebe Dynevor when she first played Daphne Bridgerton in Season 1. With Season 4 recently wrapped and upcoming seasons expected to focus on characters like Eloise and Francesca, Hyacinth’s storyline may still be several years away, giving the actors time to naturally grow into the roles.

For now, Netflix and Shondaland have not announced any casting changes, and there are no signs that replacements are being sought. As Bridgerton prepares to begin production on Season 5 in spring 2026, the current ensemble appears set to continue, suggesting the younger Bridgertons may grow up on screen rather than being recast.
