Actor Rosanna Arquette has publicly questioned the official ruling that Virginia Giuffre died by suicide, adding her voice to a growing number of people who have expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding Giuffre’s death.
Giuffre, who was widely known for her role in exposing the crimes of convicted trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, died in April 2025 at the age of 41. Her family announced her death at the time, describing it as a suicide, but questions about the circumstances have continued to surface.
In an interview with The Times of London, Arquette said she does not believe Giuffre took her own life. The actress explained that she had known Giuffre personally and struggled to accept the official conclusion.
Arquette said that based on her knowledge of Giuffre, she finds the suicide ruling difficult to believe. Her comments reflect concerns that have also been raised by others connected to the case.
Giuffre became one of the most prominent figures associated with the effort to expose Epstein’s trafficking network. She was among the earliest and most vocal accusers and played a key role in bringing public attention to allegations involving powerful figures connected to Epstein.
Her accusations also contributed to legal and public scrutiny involving Prince Andrew, who ultimately reached a civil settlement with Giuffre in 2022 without admitting wrongdoing.
Arquette said her connection to Giuffre developed through conversations with survivors who had come forward about Epstein. She said those women showed significant courage in speaking publicly about their experiences.
The actress also noted that her own experiences during the #MeToo movement helped her understand the challenges faced by survivors who speak out. Arquette was among the actresses who accused former film producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
During the interview, Arquette said the women who came forward in the Epstein case should be supported and protected as they continue to deal with the aftermath of the scandal.
When asked directly whether she believes Giuffre died by suicide, Arquette repeated that she does not accept that conclusion.
Others connected to Giuffre have also voiced questions about the circumstances surrounding her death. Both her father and her attorney have previously expressed doubts and called for further scrutiny of the events leading up to her passing.
Authorities have not announced any change to the official ruling regarding the cause of death. The discussion surrounding the case continues as supporters and family members seek clarity about what happened.
