Michael J. Fox recently reunited with his longtime Back to the Future co-star Christopher Lloyd, sharing the moment with fans on social media.
Fox posted a photo on Instagram showing the two actors together during a meal by the beach, highlighting their enduring friendship decades after the release of the iconic film.
“Dining with my bestie at the beach. Next year BTTF is 41. Great Scott,” Fox wrote in the caption, referencing the 1985 movie that launched the beloved franchise.
He also noted Lloyd’s upcoming birthday, adding, “Chris will be 88. That’s some serious stuff.”
Lloyd responded in the comments with a nod to one of the film’s memorable lines, writing, “Man, that’s heavy.”
Fox portrayed Marty McFly in Back to the Future, while Lloyd played the eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown. The film became a major box office success and later spawned two sequels: Back to the Future Part II in 1989 and Part III in 1990.
Although Fox did not specify when the reunion took place, the two actors were also seen together the following day at an event marking the 25th anniversary of Lucky’s Montecito, a well-known steakhouse in Santa Barbara County.
The reunion comes shortly after Fox appeared as an opening speaker at the Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The ceremony traditionally features performers introducing themselves before ending with the phrase “I am an actor.”
Fox added a personal touch during his introduction, saying, “I’m Michael J. Fox and a dad, and I’m an actor.”
During the speech, he reflected on the early days of his career, recalling advice from a teacher before he moved from Canada to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
“My teacher said, ‘Fox, you’re not going to be cute forever,’” he said. “And I replied, ‘Maybe just long enough, sir.’”
Fox also spoke about meeting his wife, actor Tracy Pollan, on the set of Family Ties. The couple later married and have four children together: Schuyler, Aquinnah, Esme and Sam.
