Pop star Harry Styles shared a surprisingly funny memory about his grandmother’s funeral—revealing that an “inappropriate” song choice nearly made him burst out laughing during the solemn moment.
Appearing on Brittany Broski’s Royal Court series, Styles was asked about unusual song inspirations, which led him to recount the unexpected scene. As his grandmother’s coffin began moving along the crematorium conveyor, The Beatles’ “The Long and Winding Road” started playing. According to Styles, the timing and literal imagery struck him as unintentionally comical.
“It just felt so absurd,” he explained, admitting he had to stifle laughter. The moment sparked a string of darkly humorous thoughts about other songs that would be wildly unsuitable for a cremation. Among the tracks he jokingly named were “Relight My Fire,” “Disco Inferno,” and “Ring of Fire.”
The singer’s dry wit carried through the rest of the interview. In another playful exchange, Broski teased him about his famously perfect smile. Styles insisted his teeth are natural but jokingly gestured toward his hairline before quickly brushing off any transplant rumors.
The lighthearted story arrives as Styles gears up for the release of his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., set to drop March 6. The lead single, “Aperture,” has already fueled anticipation among fans.
