[Variety] Actor and singer Seo In-guk graces the cover of ‘Singles’ Japan’s March issue, offering an exclusive interview ahead of his Netflix series ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ debut.
The photoshoot showcases Seo’s versatility, effortlessly embodying both sophisticated dandy charm and quintessential ‘boyfriend chic’ in various ensembles.
Discussing his upcoming Netflix series, Seo reveals that ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ is a multi-layered emotional journey set in a virtual dating simulation. He teases that viewers will find themselves completely engrossed as they follow the characters’ complex emotional arcs.

Seo describes his character, Kyung-nam, as outwardly cold but impeccably competent, with an unexpected goofy side. Laughing, he adds, “I’m not nearly as serious as Kyung-nam,” describing himself as more playful and emotionally expressive than his on-screen persona.
Given the show’s romantic focus, Seo praises co-star Jisoo’s on-set energy and perfect embodiment of her character. He notes that as filming progressed, the line between actor and character seemed to blur.
Reflecting on his dual career, Seo shares that he’s learned to approach emotions more analytically, with his acting and music endeavors positively influencing each other.

Looking ahead to 2024, Seo hopes it will be a year of fruition for his carefully laid plans. He hints at a packed schedule, including ‘Monthly Boyfriend,’ his current project ‘Tomorrow, I Go to Work!’ and an upcoming album.
Seo’s global fanbase continues to grow, with his 2024 fan meeting tour ‘TWO SIDES’ PHASE 1 set to kick off in Mexico on March 24, followed by stops in Chile and Brazil.
Fans can catch more of Seo’s photoshoot and in-depth interview in the March issue of ‘Singles.’ The Japanese edition will be available at Daikanyama Tsutaya bookstore and Tsutaya T-SITE, with pre-orders now open.
