Russell Brand has pleaded not guilty to additional rape and sexual assault charges as his legal battle continues in the U.K.
The 50-year-old comedian and actor appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London on Tuesday, where he formally denied two new charges of rape and sexual assault. According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the alleged incidents took place in London in 2009 and involve two women.
Brand had already entered not guilty pleas to earlier allegations, including two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault. Those charges relate to alleged incidents said to have occurred between 1999 and 2005 in London and Bournemouth, involving four women.
During his court appearance, Brand confirmed his identity and spoke from the dock to enter his pleas. A trial related to the original charges is currently scheduled for June.
The investigation into Brand began in 2023 following reports published by the Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches. Brand has consistently denied the allegations against him. The case remains ongoing.
