Chris Hemsworth may be one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars, but at home, he’s just “Dad.” In a recent interview, the Thor actor shared that his three children—daughter India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan—aren’t particularly impressed by his superhero status.

Speaking to People Magazine, Hemsworth admitted that when his kids first realized he played Thor, they thought it was “pretty awesome.” But that excitement didn’t last long. “Then they realized they couldn’t actually fly,” he joked. “And suddenly it wasn’t so cool anymore.” These days, he says their reaction is more of a casual, “Yeah, whatever, Dad.”

Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky have intentionally raised their family far from Hollywood’s spotlight in Byron Bay, Australia. The coastal setting offers a quieter, more grounded upbringing—something Hemsworth has said helps keep fame in perspective. At home, celebrity status doesn’t carry much weight compared to everyday parenting realities.

While promoting his new film Crime 101 in Los Angeles, Hemsworth also revealed a lighter side of his movie career—he’s a bit of a prop collector. From Thor’s iconic hammers, including Stormbreaker, to the axe from Snow White and the Huntsman, he’s taken home a few souvenirs. He even considered keeping a classic 1969 Camaro from his latest project—until he realized the steering wheel would be on the wrong side for driving in Australia.
