Kate Beckinsale is facing a wave of backlash online after speaking out about Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and calling for accountability for anyone involved in child sexual abuse, regardless of political affiliation.

The British actress took to Instagram to share screenshots of graphic and hostile direct messages she says she received after posting that pedophilia should never be treated as a partisan issue. Beckinsale stressed that anyone who has harmed children, “no matter what side they’re on,” should be prosecuted. But instead of applause, she says she was met with a barrage of abuse.

In one post, Beckinsale shared a user’s profile photo alongside a vulgar message allegedly sent in response to her stance. “This was in response to a post that clearly said objecting to pedophilia is not partisan,” she wrote. “It said anyone who abused children should be prosecuted. And yet…” She also reposted a video of an American man accusing Attorney General Pam Bondi of shielding pedophiles, in which he claimed the country “could collapse” if the full Epstein files were ever made public.

Beckinsale pushed back against critics who accused her of politicizing the issue. “The only people trying to make this political are Trump supporters,” she wrote, claiming she had not received similar attacks from Democrats. Her comments quickly ignited heated debate across social media platforms.

The controversy intensified after Beckinsale referenced past reporting about several high-profile men connected to various scandals, adding a sharply worded remark suggesting a “correlation” between certain personal traits and criminal behavior. That post in particular drew strong reactions from both supporters and critics.

Her comments come amid renewed public attention on the Epstein case following a Department of Justice announcement that it had released all materials required under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. A letter sent to members of Congress by Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy stated that all documents in the department’s possession had been disclosed, including a list of names appearing in the files, fueling another round of public scrutiny and online outrage.
