The 2026 awards season is officially taking shape, and Hollywood’s calendar for the first half of the year is already packed with major ceremonies, high-stakes wins, and Oscar-defining moments. From film and television to music and Broadway, awards season will kick into high gear in February and roll straight through June, keeping stars, studios, and fans locked in for months.
February launches the frenzy with a stacked lineup of industry honors. Animation and visual effects take early focus with the Annie Awards and the SDSA Awards for Film on February 21, followed by the BAFTA Film Awards on February 22. The Visual Effects Society Awards arrive on February 25, with the Artios Awards and ACE Eddie Awards close behind. The month closes with an especially crowded February 28, featuring the PGA Awards, Art Directors Guild Awards, and NAACP Image Awards all on the same day.
March is when awards season reaches its peak intensity. The newly renamed Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, take place on March 1, alongside the Children & Family Emmy Awards spanning March 1 and 2. As guilds and critics weigh in, the GLAAD Media Awards, Dorian Awards, CAS Awards, and SOC Awards follow throughout the first week. March 8 becomes one of the busiest nights of the season, with the Writers Guild Awards, ASC Awards, Golden Reel Awards, Satellite Awards, and Saturn Awards all happening at once. The Academy Awards air on March 15, marking the most anticipated night of the season. Later in the month, attention shifts to television nominations with BAFTA TV announcements on March 24, while the iHeartRadio Music Awards close out March on the 26th.
April brings a brief slowdown, though key industry moments remain. Anime Awards nominations are revealed on April 2, while the Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation takes place on April 28, honoring behind-the-scenes innovation.
May picks things back up with major international and genre-focused ceremonies. The BAFTA Television Awards are held on May 10, followed by the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 17. Anime fans get their big night on May 23, and the Peabody Awards wrap the month on May 31.
June delivers a strong finish to the first half of the year. Broadway takes center stage at the Tony Awards on June 7, while music and culture collide at the BET Awards on June 14.
With Oscar night anchoring the season and dozens of guilds, critics, and fan-voted shows shaping the narrative along the way, the first half of 2026 is set to be one of the most crowded and competitive awards seasons in recent memory.
