Halle Berry may not be suiting up for Avengers: Doomsday, but she is not closing the door on a return to the X-Men universe anytime soon. The Oscar-winning actress recently admitted she was disappointed to be left out of Marvel’s upcoming Phase Six blockbuster, while making it clear she would gladly reunite with her mutant co-stars if the opportunity arises.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Berry said Storm remains one of the most meaningful roles of her career. She described the character as holding a special place in her heart and said she would return to the role without hesitation if Marvel called. For Berry, playing Storm was not just another superhero gig but a defining chapter that she still feels deeply connected to.

Berry last appeared as Storm in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Since then, excitement has been building around Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Several familiar faces from the original X-Men films have already signed on, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Alan Cumming, Kelsey Grammer, and Channing Tatum. Berry’s absence from the cast has not gone unnoticed by fans who were hoping to see Storm join the massive crossover.

While Avengers: Doomsday will move forward without her, there is still hope on the horizon. Jake Schreier, who is leading Marvel Studios’ long-awaited X-Men reboot, recently teased that work on the project is already underway. Though he kept details tightly under wraps, he described the early stages as genuinely exciting, fueling speculation that familiar mutants could return in future installments.

For now, Berry is staying optimistic. Even if Storm does not appear in the next Avengers film, she has made it clear she is ready and willing to step back into the role whenever Marvel decides the time is right.
