Leaked internal emails from Sony Pictures have ignited a fresh Hollywood firestorm, revealing just how ugly things reportedly became behind the scenes of It Ends With Us. The messages, which surfaced as part of ongoing legal proceedings, show senior studio executives using blistering language to describe both director Justin Baldoni and star Blake Lively as tensions around the film spiraled out of control.
According to the emails, Sony marketing executive Danni Maggin privately labeled Baldoni a “moron” after a 2024 interview in which he discussed a pivotal assault scene in the film. Studio executives were reportedly furious over Baldoni’s wording, believing his comments risked misrepresenting the story and derailing the carefully planned promotional strategy. Even after attempts were made to edit the interview before publication, internal frustration boiled over, with executives expressing concern that Baldoni should be pulled from further press appearances.
